So I’m looking at this post again, pretending that I haven’t been writing it for a week now. (I hate submitting posts without photos. That’s my excuse.) In a week, my summer vacation will officially come to a close as classes will be starting up again. This summer meant so many things for me. It’s the best one I’ve ever had, and I’m ALMOST sure that no other break could ever top this one. I met lots of new people who have so much substance (and great personalities to match!), had wonderful times at my two jobs, and loved my independence in my ghost town of a city (Summers in a college town are lonely!).
Since my resident assistant position finished up, I am now a regular student and its kind of a weird feeling. It was great being able to walk into the dining hall and know that the high school-aged residents were looking at us and thinking, “Oh. The RAs are here.” Hopefully I’ll be in that position again one year from now since it was so much fun, and led me to lots of new interactions with people all over the campus. (I mean ALL over…I’m friends with the chefs, maintenance people, police officers…the list goes on.) It was nice feeling empowered again. Behind-the-scenes jobs are my absolute favorite.
So, here’s to a new year of great art, personal development, new friends, beautiful shoes, and lots of opportunities. I hope to iron out some of my flaws, and find new strengths. I want to be productive, and I want to be tired, and I want to be satisfied with what is constructed in the time that I have been given. I want to learn how to go to bed at a decent hour while still getting work done…that’s important.
I also want a vintage Chanel backpack. But we’ll see how that goes.
I’ve started commenting blogs entries that I’ve missed in my absence, I’ll be around to yours soon if I haven’t reached it yet!
