A couple of days ago, I turned 21! I had a pretty low-key but still really fun birthday thanks to three of my friends here in London, Regina, Dominique, and Jane! I started out the day with a nice breakfast (something I’m usually running too late for), a trip to Topshop (made my first purchases there, ever!), an adventure to the far east side of London, and then birthday Chipotle and my first alcoholic anything ever at this awesome pub called Be At One.
I asked American Apparel for this dress in black a little while ago and it turns out it was backordered. It came to my surprise to find this very bright fuchsia-colored dress in my package instead of the black one, but hey! Beggars can’t be choosers, right? Because of the color, I’ve had so much trouble wanting to wear it…I mean, I’m not afraid of color but this exact shade of pink is a little pet peeve of mine. But I’m glad I hesitated wearing it because it made the perfect birthday dress and the color isn’t so bad in hindsight. And, during my little solo expedition, the gloomy weather and great lighting made for the perfect photos….look how the dress pops!
Not going to lie though…I was dying in 37 degree weather. I was spoiled by the 52 degree high the day before so I underestimated the cold weather that day. But I survived!
Lastly, I wanted to show this AWESOME leather jacket my mom got me a few months ago. When I’m looking for very particular wardrobe staples and I mention it out loud, she always keeps a mental note of it and looks for (then finds) something in the exact style that I wanted. Thank ya mom! :)
So now I’m living the 21 life which is strange to me because I started my first fashion blog when I was 17 and like, really? It’s been 4 years? I mean, my style has certainly improved (thank God) but I feel like I should be doing so much more with my life! I admittedly have a bit of a dissatisfaction complex which is a bit of a good think, I think…there will never not be room for room for improvement in my eyes. Here’s to doing big things, and then doing more big things after that.
