So after seeing Natalie’s post on her gradient nails, I decided to finally get off my lazy butt and do it for myself. For my first time, I’d say I’m pleased, but this won’t be staying on my nails for too long. It’s definitely something where you can’t expect to be perfect at on your first try. I’m definitely in for trying again, though! I’d say mistakes are pretty obvious for black on bare nails, so try two similar colors, such as a light and darker shade of the same color if you really want to worry about masking mistakes. And another tip: don’t let the gradient go past 50% of the nail! It doesn’t look as cool. I kept trying to make the gradient a perfect transition and would slip up and go too low. Definitely watch that.
Casee asked if I was going to do a tutorial, but why do that when there’s already a perfectly good one from someone I know? You can view Natalie’s tutorial here. Like she says, it is super easy– both in theory and in practice. However, if you want it to look perfect it’ll be something you have to give a few goes at.
